Whole Foods Market Coming to Downtown Summerlin- Yesterday, Howard Hughes Corporation announced that Whole Food Market will be built at the northwest corner of Sahara Ave and Town Center Drive. This brand new expansion of Downtown Summerlin will be sitting on a 13.45 acre lot. This site will also include other retail stores that have not yet been announced. This is the first expansion of Downtown Summerlin Since it opened in 2014. As your Summerlin Realtor, I keep up with the latest news and events that affect Summerlin.
Howard Hughes Corporation stated that they will turn over the newly completed building to Whole Foods some time in the third quarter of 2024. My best guess would be that after Whole Foods completes the interior build out, the market should be open some time in the beginning of 2025. Fox 5 Vegas is reporting that the Whole Foods located at Fort Apache and Charleston will be closing once this new Downtown Summerlin location opens.
Great question. There is still over 100+ acres that can be developed in Downtown Summerlin. I have seen videos from Howard Hughes Corporation showcasing the vertical building of this area. This would include high rise condos, more office buildings and more retail spaces as well. In the next several years, Summerlin will continue to expand and grow. Summerlin West will see the most growth in all of Summerlin. Downtown Summerlin will continue to be the hub and downtown area for all of Summerlin.
